2016 Red Hen Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting Notes

Brilliant dark garnet in the glass, the wine is brooding and bewitching all at once. The nose bursts with ripe cassis, boysenberry and blackberry aromas overlaying cooler notes of graphite. The palate delivers on the promise with a juicy abundance of blueberries and blackcurrants shaded by dried mint and pencil lead, with superfine black tea tannins gracefully structuring the whole. Stony minerality and umami notes emerge on the mid-palate, gliding toward the finish with abundant black fruit and ripe, dark berries.
